Table top sale and remembering Richard Attenborough

On 1st November 9th Leicester are holding a table top sale to get some of their members to the World Scout Jamboree in Japan for the experience of a lifetime. The World Scout Jamboree is the biggest event in the Scouting calendar, happening just once every four years in every corner of the globe in 2015 it comes to Japan and 6 young people from South East have been selected to attend with 30’000 Scouts from all over the planet with a programme focused on culture, understanding and peace. The funds raised on the door, at the group stands and from table bookings will not only go towards young people in Leicestershire but their fee subsidises Scouts around the world from disadvantaged countries allowing them to attend.  Entry is free for children and just 50p for adults.

Whilst some members of the group are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime the whole group would like pay tribute to the life of Lord Richard Attenborough. 9th Leicester have recently refurbished the loft space at their HQ (58 Stoughton Road LE2 2EF) and on Saturday 1st November during the table top sale photographs of the Attenboroughs will be displayed in this loft space that will be named ‘The Attenborough Attic’.

As well as the chance to support an amazing adventure tables are still available to sell unwanted goods and perhaps clear some space before Christmas. Tables can be rented for £10 and any profits can be kept. It is suggested that young people wishing to raise money do so with the support of an adult. To book a table contact Moragh Hargreaves on 0116 2201329
